Statement
Maxine is a striving artist who enjoys new learning techniques and experimenting with different media. Her work has had a strong geometric feel to it often exploring the themes of contrast, division and balance. Through the combining use of rounded and sharp edges and exploring a monochromatic colour palette, Maxine wants to tell a story through her work. Taking inspiration from the ying yang and early philosophical studies she wants to show that there is always two sides to everything and that’s there is harmony with the contrast. Research and finding out about the history of the subject matter or inspiration is key in the artistic process for Maxine. She is fascinated by the meanings behind things and takes a lot of inspiration from her findings.
