After looking at balance in a 2D scene I wanted to exploring and play around with paint and be a lot more loose. I wanted to stick with the greys tones exploring the difference tones and how they all complement each other. I started off by just swotching some colours on a page, I actually really liked the abstract square shape so wanted to take that a bit further playing around with layers and the colours.

I started by filling a page with lots of small rectangles all different colours, once they were dry I painted more rectangles in those shapes so there was three or two rectangles in one.

I started getting bigger and bigger, continuing the same concept but on a larger scale. I really liked how simply the design is and think it is a fun pattern and would look great digital.
