To start of my self directed brief i wanted to stat of by creating some colleges. I wanted to start of by creating collage focusing on balance and contrast through different colours and shapes. I really enjoy the process of collaging and think you can get some really simple and interesting pieces through from magazine cut outs. I think collaging is a great place to start as you get ideas of what the over all feel is that you are trying to get is.

I created a mixture of collages some monochrome , some black, white and ones with colour. My favourite magazines to find cut outs is home décor ones a you get all the sample home pictures an get all the lovely shapes of windows and doors alongside their beautiful textures. My favourite collage is my white tones one as i love the arched windows and the beautiful shadows from it. I think through the soft colour pallet it looks really peaceful and calm which i think is really visually pleasing.

One thing i would change about my collages if i could redo them is i would of added the text. I thought the text would make the collages look finished however i think the text is almost distracting and takes away the main focus of the collages.
