On the 28th of January was our first week of six for our life drawing unit. I had never drawn drawing the figure before let alone doing life drawing. I was really worried as I thought I was going to be really bad as I have always thought I can’t drawing the body and I will be the worse in the class as everyone had done it it before.

I was really surprised on how not 100% terrible my drawing was, I didn’t really where to start and struggled to get the whole thing in the paper but I started to feel a little bit less nervous.

We done a couple of 10 minutes challenges where we were not allowed to look at the paper when drawing and was a continuous line. Every minutes or so the model would change position so we had to keep drawing the new pose without lifting our hand.Even though it doesn’t look like a person I actually really really messy look and how it has the sense of the moving don’t but doesn’t look like it. this was probably my favourite challenge.

Here’s another little drawing of the figure using charcoal. I was really struggling with the proportions and trying to get the whole body in the page. I was also trying to avoid the head as I really can’t draw faces and didn’t want it to look that bad. I think the tummy and legs down is okay however the left boos is too far down and kind of through a the drawing off.

This drawing is a bit different as it is the back view of the model. I think this drawing is actually okay and the body looks real. The only think which I would change and need to consider is the scale and composition as she is really small on this big page and very close the the right edge.

I really wanted to mange to get the whole body in and for it to look real. I started with the drawing on the left however it wasn’t going good, I couldn’t get the right angle the model was standing in which made my drawing look really stiff and a bit childish. I was getting a bit annoyed as I could do and thought my development wouldn’t be seen. However Alan told me to draw another one right next to it and try again. I am much happy with the one on the right and think it really shows how I have improved a little bit.
