Eric Schumacher, constructed

Through the process of trying to find out a little about Schumacher was very hard. There is nothing really about about him or his life in the internet other than he was him in Luxembourg. I really like his work so still wanted to look into his sculpture.

Schumachers work is massively inspired by shape and colour. His sculptures are made from pieces of chip board and sheets of laminated MDF cut into rectangles, triangles and other random shapes. The woods pieces are placed in precarious positions and are glued and slotted together. The pieces have been cleverly positioned and make you question how have they been attached are is it stable?

The sculptures are visually interesting as they are very busy and have a juxtapositions composition. They are cramped and busy but you can see a lot of thinking has gone to it.

The ransom pops of bright colours really helps break up the colours of the wooden boards and adds a little Luce and fun to the sculptures which catches your eye.
