Cornelia Parker was born on 14 the of July 1956. She is a British artist focusing on conceptual art and installations. Parker’s work shoes themes of destruction and found objects. Parker’s work is very messy which makes her installations very busy and visually interesting as there is so m h to take in.

The sound objects used in Parker’s work is very specific to the piece and holds slots of meaning to market and the piece it’s self. Objects suck as banned pornograghic tapes, worn out brass instruments or wooden planks. The objects are often hung by string form the ceiling to give the illusion of them floating in mid aid like they are frozen I Time.

I think Parker’s work is really interesting. I live the strong geometric feel the installations have with all the sharp edges and shapes. I like how the piece looks like an explosion however that is being controlled and like time has stopped before anything gets damaged.

I live the effect that the lights create with all the shadows being projected around the room. It created an illusion even though is only confided to one space it looks like it is all around you and you are in the centre of the destruction.
